She was still a little angry at him for last night—more because he hadn’t kissed her—and he hadn’t spoken to her since. How was she supposed to react to that? How was she to know when he acted all interested one moment and then walked out on her the next?
AGAIN I REPEAT CHAPTER ONE:
There could never be anything but friendship between them.
This does not read like the mind of someone resigned to the fact that they cannot be with the person they love. It reads like a person wondering why their boyfriend isn't calling back.
