“Danged if I know,” he replied
This doesn't match up with earlier chapters where Jasper said that burying the device would "protect himself, Mei and his family."
All this being said, Jasper's POVs are easier for me to read because enraging Mary Sue Finley isn't in them. DNW tho, trying to read ahead last night, I saw that ofc, Jasper and Mei run into Finley and Emily at the fight club.
